Drug and alcohol abusers know that large businesses are more likely to have a drug-free workplace program, so they typically seek employment at small and medium-size companies. Either way, it’s critical to have an effective drug and alcohol testing policy in place.

Your policy is your formal statement outlining your position on drug and alcohol testing in your workplace. We’ll include language reflecting your choices about who, what, where, when and how testing will occur, as well as consequences of policy violations.

To guide Program Coordinators with state laws and standards of practice, we’ll provide a state-specific Implementation Checklist that includes day-to-day essentials, such as how to post notice of the policy, limiting discipline (where appropriate), and more.

Front-line managers will receive a state-specific Manager’s Guide that details post-accident procedures to follow when a situation arises. Along with do’s and dont’s for each state, this small tri-fold document includes space for additional contacts, collection site information and after-hours phone numbers.

Since workplace and drug testing rules are constantly changing, we monitor each state’s legislature, courts and Industrial Agency decisions, and will alert you to any state-specific changes that apply to you. If changes are suggested or required, we will make appropriate revisions in your policy, Implementation Checklists and Manager’s Guides, and send them to you for approval.
